The Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo has appointed Emmanuel Egogo as his Senior Special Assistant.
Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor signed the appointment letter of the popular praise singer who hails from Calabar, Cross River State.
But the letter, dated April 15th 2025, which however did not specify Emmanuel’s portfolio, is with immediate effect.
The appointee gained recognition few years ago having been a town crier and praise singer to some politicians across bi-partisan lines in Edo State at different times.
Emmanuel has also been a benefactor of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Chief Dan Orbih, and Governor Monday Okpebholo and Omosede Igbinedion.
The Governor’s aide shared his letter of appointment on Facebook on Thursday, and thanked his friends and family and the Governor for the feat.
He wrote: “On behalf of my friends and family I want to thank my Boss the Governor of Edo State for making me who I am today”.
“Congratulation to myself as the special SSA to the executive Governor of our Great state God bless you sir and also my leaders of APC I love u all”, he said in excitement.
