Obi, Akpata rally Oba of Benin on free, fair poll

Candidate of Labour Party (LP) in 2023 Presidential election, Mr Peter Obi and the party’s Candidate in Edo State September 21 governorship poll, Mr Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata have tasked the Benin monarchy to lead advocacy for free and fair election in Nigeria.

The duo made the appeal when the Campaign Council in Oba Palace at the sidelines of the party’s campaign flagg-off on Saturday in Benin City.

Addressing the Benin throne during the visit, Mr Obi said, “Let the people elect those who will serve them”.

“Your Majesty, that is our simple request and I think you’ve always been a father to all. And I know in this election, you will remain a father to all”, he stressed.

Earlier in his remarks,
Mr Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, promised that Labour Party will provide people’s-oriented and impactful governance if elected as next Governor of the State.

He also solicited for Oba Ewuare’s prayer and blessings to enable Labour party win the forthcoming election.

Responding, the Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin, wished the Labour Party well in his governorship ambition, describing him as a son of the soil.
