Oba of Benin proclaims five chieftaincy titles

Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin has proclaimed five Chieftaincy titles, marking the begining of a new dawn in Benin.

Chief Aiyagbonrule Ugheneze was honoured with the Osamagiedode of Benin title, while Chief Friday Obaze, was bestowed the Enoha of Benin Chieftaincy title.

Accordingly, Chief Igie Omoragbon was awarded the title of Obasenaga of Benin. Chief Ebose Osayomwanbor, was honoured with the Osogua of Benin title, while Chief Efosa Igbinomwanhia was blessed with the Obamedo of Benin title.

The sense of euphoria, followed conferment of the titles on these prominent Benin indigenes who have distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavour, was captured during the Ekpomwanbor traditional rite held at the Oba Palace in Benin.

The quintet, expressed profound gratitude to the Oba for finding them worthy of the honour during Ekpomwanbor — a Thanksgiving to the Oba in appreciation after conferment of Chieftaincy titles with great responsibilities.

Oba Ewuare II, also gave his blessings to the newly enlisted disciples who took turn to pay homage to the royal parsonage in excitement with their family members, friends and associates during the traditional rite.

Chief Igbinomwanhia, had attained the nadir of his untainted public service career in Edo State House of Assembly before his elevation which is a call to service, by the Oba who presided over the outdoor ceremony.
