The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has confirmed the arrest and detention of three additional personnel of the agency over the death of 37 miners in its custody, Niger State last week Thursday.
The Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has ordered that the NSCDC flag be flown at half-mast across all formations for three (3) days, starting from Sunday, 20th September2026 to signal our collective mourning and vowed to weed-out bad elements with the security agency.
The NSCDC boss confirmed the incident in a statement, endorsed by the agency’s spokesman, Babawale Afolabi who identified the affected personnel, including 21 others as:
