Muslims pay Sallah homage to Oba of Benin

Muslim Communities in Benin have paid Eid-el-kabir homage to Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin in his Palace, Benin City.

The visit was part of the activities marking Eid-el-kabir festival also known as Feast of sacrifice in Islam, featured prayer of peace, unity and prosperity in the land during the solemn Assembly

Benin Central Mosque Deputy Chief Imam, Alhaji Osahon Otokiti led other Muslim leaders across Hausa, Arewa, Yoruba Communities and other ethnic groups in Edo State at the session.

The Muslim faithful interceded for leaders in positions of authority, including the Oba of Benin, Benin Royal Court, Benin Royal family, Edo State and Nigeria.

Addressing the Benin throne, Benin Central Mosque Deputy Chief Imam, Alhaji Osahon Otokiti declared that Edo people are in solidarity with Oba Ewuare II for exemplifying the traits of dignity and steadfastness in pooling through thick and thin since he attained the throne of his forebears.

Alhaji Otokiti who was full of enthusiasm, also thanked the Royal father
for his support towards Muslims and for unifying the various ethnic and religious groups living in the State, thereby raising the utilitarian value to Edo heritage worldwide.

Responding, Oba Ewuare II, congratulated leaders of Muslim Communities in Edo State on the successful Eid celebration and urged them not to relent in prayers for Nigeria.

The Royal Parsonage in his usual magnanimity, prayed for the group and extended his goodwill to Muslims during the Sallah’s celebration in reflection of the deep personal faith in God.
