A medical doctor, Gadafi Bala is in police custody for alleged defilement and rape of 14-year-old girl in Ogun State.
Bala was promptly arrested by police operatives after a medical result proved positive that he had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim, a Junior Secondary schools, JSS 1 student.
Spokesperson of the Nigeria police Command in Ogun State Command, SP Omolola Odutola disclosed this on Friday in a statement where she said a discreet investigation into crime has began.
The statement said, “A report received from Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara Ogijo that a 14 year-old-female student a jss 1 student of Aderegun Community High School, OGIJO was raped by one Gadafi Bala ”m” aged 24years old, on the 28th of March 2024”.
SP Odutola stated that “As soon as the Division Police Officer Ogijo received the report, he visited the victim and issued an examination form for evaluation, which result proved positive that one Gadafi had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
“Sequel to the result being confirmed by a doctor of a government owned hospital, Gadafi was promptly arrested”, the police spokesperson said in the statement.
SP Odutola also noted that the medical doctor in service of Ogun State government-owned hospital, has been transferred Ogijo Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Police headquarters in the State.
