Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has announced a reward of N10 million for any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of two police personnel in the State.
The security agents of Ugwi Police Division were shot dead and riffles stolen by gunmen during stop-and-search last Friday on Presidential Road by Independent Layout, Enugu City.
The Governor announced the reward on Saturday, said there will be no hiding place for criminals in the State and pledged necessary government support to families of the officers.
He sent his condolences to families of the victims and assured that the sacrifices of the valiant police personnel who were killed in the line of duty will not go in vain.
According to him, “There will be no hiding place for these criminals. We must use everything necessary to hunt them down. Arrest, and bring perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
“We have also placed a bounty of N10 million as a reward to anyone that has any useful information that would result to the arrest of these criminals.
“So, we are going to ensure that the unfortunate sacrifices of these valiant did not go in vain.
“We will also ensure thad as a government, we are going to provide necessary support to the bereaved families”, he said.
TheNewspad reports that the Nigeria Police Command in Enugu State has contacted families of the late Cops of the incident.
Security in South Eastern part of Nigeria, has been largely linked to the continuous detention of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kano, who was charged with treason, terrorism related charges and other offence.
While some Stakeholders that have also demanded for Kano’s unconditional release, others have kicked against his released from the custody of Department of State Security Service after he fled Nigeria and was rearrested outside the nation during the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari.
