Men of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested 29-year-old Salaudeen Toheeb for the alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old female wanderer identified as Boluwatife.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Olohunda area of Ota, Ogun State,
according to the statement which revealed how the suspect had encountered the survivor roaming the streets on his motorcycle the previous evening.
After she mentioned she was distressed, he took her to his residence and bought her food.
The suspect alleged that after she ate, he attempted to force himself on her despite her refusals, carrying out the sexual assault in the early hours of the following morning.
The arrest was prompted by community members who recognized the survivor while she and the suspect went out to charge a mobile phone.
They contacted her father, leading authorities to the scene.
Intervention: Following a directive from Area Commander Akeem Saka, So-Safe Corps officers led by Alagbon Divisional Officer SC Ibrahim Badru arrested the suspect.
The survivor’s father requested the case be transferred to the Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters, noting that his daughter had left home with five mobile phones and about ₦17,000, which are also under investigation.
The case has officially been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and legal action.
The So-Safe Corps has urged the public to promptly report missing persons, suspected abuse, and sexual offences to appropriate security authorities.
