A 29-year-man, Sylvester Enemo has allegedly hacked his 39-year-old pregnant brother’s wife, identified as Mrs. Esther Enemo to death, in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.
The suspect was said to have also dismembered the victim, said to be his elder brother’s wife, after killing the victim at Temidire community, Egbejila road, Ilorin, on August 21, 2025.
Residents in the locality told Channels television that the victim, whose husband is a trader in agricultural chemicals and equipment in a border town in the Kwara North district, had been alone at home on Wednesday night.
Residents alleged that Esther was expecting a visitor that evening and was seen purchasing bottles of beer and plates of peppery soup before retreating indoors before the tragedy struck.
Suspicion however arose at dawn when a neighbour reportedly confronted a man, believed to be her husband’s younger brother, leaving the house with a dripping black plastic bag.
TheNewspad reports that the suspicion thereafter turned out to be blood, prompting the neighbour to raise the alarm and draw the attention of other members of the area.
Body parts suspected to belong to the victim —including an arm, a leg, and internal organs—were said to have been later discovered in nearby bushes, while the head was nowhere to be found, according to police sources in Kwara.
In a statement, the spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in Kwara State, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident and arrest of the murder suspect by the police.

“In contrast, the husband, Mr. Ekene Enemo, has also been contacted for necessary clarification.
“The remains of the deceased have been evacuated and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) morgue for autopsy, according to SP Ejire-Adeyemi.
The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Ojo Adekimi, ordering a full-scale investigation into the matter.
