Kidnapped APC campaign director shot dead in Rivers elections

Tragedy has hit the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the murder of Mr Chisom Leonard, the the Campaign Director of the main opposition party in the State.

The politician, according to reports, was exercising his franchise during the governorship and state hose of Assembly elections when gunmen clad in police uniform launched attack at Ibagwa polling unit 2, Ward 10 in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the State.

Mr Darlington Nwauju, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, confirmed the tragedy to Daily Trust on Sunday.

According to Nwauju, “He (Leonard) was abducted from his polling unit during the voting process and taken away”.

“Nobody knew where they took him to. It was later yesterday evening (Saturday) that his body was discovered. He was the APC LGA caretaker chairman and a PhD student at Rivers State University”.

TheNewspad reports murder abduction, has heightened tension in the State, ahead of the final declaration of the winner of the governorship and state house of Assembly polls in the State.
