Keke rider who returned missing N15m gets N250m scholarship

23-year-old Kano-based commercial Tricyclist, Mr Awwalu Salisu, has been offered a scholarship upto PhD level of education worth N250 million.

Leadership Newspaper, recalled that the rider, returned a cash of N15 million left in his tricycle by a Chadian businessman in 2023.

Governor of Niger State,
Umar Bago said this at the Annual LEADERSHIP Media Group conference to celebrate outstanding personality in year 2023.

He announced a N250m scholarship award to Awwalu in appreciation of his act of honesty and to inspire other young Nigerians to imbibe the virtue.

TheNewspad reports that Awwalu was offered the scholarship at the Abuja-based Baze University up to PhD level.

Bago said Awwalu will get N50 million scholarship each from him personally, President Bola Tinubu, his Ministers, APC Governors Forum and Niger State government.

He also promised to name one of the ongoing road projects in Niger State after the Kano Keke rider, according to the report.
