Hoodlums abandon gun in Plateau failed robbery

A robbery gang has abandoned a pistol with

two rounds of live ammunition in a failed attempt to rob citizens, following recent wave of violence by armed assailants, leading to fatalities and life threatening injuries.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in Plateau State, DSP Alfred Alabo said in a statement that armed miscreants fled when they were repelled by armed police personnel who recovered the arm and ammunition.

“On the 22nd of April 2025, at about 0730am, our surveillance team attached to Area Command Metro while on patrol around Jenta Adamu, Jos, busted a group of armed hoodlums, while attempting to rob an innocent citizen of the State”, according to him.

He said, “Upon spotting our team of officers, the hoodlums fled the scene, leaving behind one locally fabricated pistol with two rounds of live ammunition”.

The statement also stated that efforts are being intensified with a view to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Accordingly, the Commissioner of Police in the State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, urge the general public to be vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police station in the State.
