A yet-to-be-identified hit-and-run driver reportedly crippled a police officer last Sunday at the Limit Road junction on Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State—leaving him in a pool of his own blood.
The cause of the accident was allegedly blamed on over speeding driver who over ran the operative after hitting the brakes at a popular checkpoint.
The operative, attached to the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police, was simply doing his job when the unfortunate incident occurred, according to eyewitnesses.
TheNewspad investigation revealed that the injured officer was rushed to the Nigeria Police Clinic following a completely botched attempt to stop the driver of a Lexus SUV (with “JLK” on the tag).
The driver’s full particulars could not be immediately verified—mostly because they were already halfway down Sapele Road.
The officer’s wife, who resides in Ondo State, was promptly contacted by police authorities to head down to Benin for further medical care at a traditional healing home.
This comes after a rather grim few days at the very same Clinic, where a police orderly and driver attached to a senior officer was confirmed dead just days prior—following a fateful bout of intimacy with his wife.
The victim who was stripped naked and had stains of semen at his groin, was said to have been brought to the medical facility late.
A reliable source noted that the crippled officer is well-known for being flawless and dedicated, having served dutifully as a police driver for over 10 years without incident—right up until this reckless Lexus driver entered the frame.
