Gunmen in Army camouflage gun down Edo resident, abduct one

Gunmen decked in military camouflage, suspected to be kidnappers have gun down a resident of Auchi, Estako West Local Government Area of Edo State, throwing locals into anguish.

 

The victim’s wife, was taken into captivity by the hoodlums in the incident that occurred near Igbira Camp, near a fertiliser depot and close to a military checkpoint in the town, according to a public interest journalist, Dada Ayokhai.

 

The spokesperson of the Nigeria police Command in Edo State, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said witnesses reported that the suspected kidnappers were in military uniform.

“I am not saying they are soldiers, but they said the people wore army camouflage.

 

“The young man was shot. He was later rushed to a health facility but was confirmed dead.

 

“Efforts are in top gear to apprehend them and rescue the lady,” Ikoedem, who has yet to disclose the identities of the victims said.
