Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted three security operatives
in Ningi village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The personnel, deployed to rescue abducted persons, including a Catholic Priest, who were taken hostage by kidnappers in an ambush and killed by armed bandits.
Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan confirmed the abduction of Reverend Father Nathaniel Asuwaye, the Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Karku Community.
The Diocesan Chancellor, Very Reverend Father Jacob Shanet, disclosed this in a statement, Saturday.
The Cleric who confirmed the deaths of the three security operatives, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which he described as a tragic moment for both the church and the Community.
But police authorities have yet to officially confirm the incident, locals reported that the attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday, at about 3:20 a.m., when armed men stormed the priest’s residence,. according to Channels television news.
