Fubara: I started taking decisions 3 months ago

Ahead of May 29, 2024 first year anniversary as Governor of Rivers State, Mr Similanayi Fubara has declared that he began to take decision in February this year.

This may not unconnected with the bitter struggle between the Governor and his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike for power in Rivers State.

He said this in Egbeda Community Secondary School field where his counterpart from Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori
inaugurated internal roads project in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Fubara said, “As for us, what do we owe you? We owe you dividend of democracy. And what is the dividend of democracy? Service is to our people. We are just starting, I can assure you that.

“And if in four months, we can this and we are getting double applause. You can imagine what will happen when we do one year on record time.

“We started full governance in the month of February — that was when we started taking decisions. We started confronting governance and I am proud to say that our people are happy with what we have done”, Fubara said.

The Governor also assured traditional rulers in the State of maximum cooperation and support.

“Don’t be scared of any rumour that you are hearing. What we want to do for our people is to bring governance to our people. Everything we are doing is in our white paper.

Addressing residents of Egbeda and its environs,

On his part, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, charged residents of Egbeda and its environs to support Governor Fubara’s administration.

He pleaded with the people not to dump refuse in road drains, noting that the government will not disappoint the electorate.

Governor Oborevwori sued for unity and prayed for peace in Rivers as well as the entire Niger Delta region.
