Four persons, cows killed in Taraba cattle war

A long-running conflict between cattle herders and farmers has claimed the lives of four persons and unspecified number of cows in Taraba State.

Police said attack between herders and farmers in Gwomu village, the Karim-Lamido Local government Area of the State.

The Nigeria Police Command in Taraba State spokesman, Gambo Kwache said in the avoidable conflict, which he said has been brought under control by the police.

“Yes, I can confirm that a total of four persons were killed in the avoidable conflict involving herders and farmers at Gwomu in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area”.

Mr Ardo Jarenga Galdu, National Chairman of Tabital Pullaku Jonde Jam, said his son is among the persons who got killed in the attack.

TheNewspad reports that security operatives have stepped up surveillance in the area on Friday.
