Fleeing Edo housewife murder suspect nabbed

Detectives of the Nigeria Police have holed-up a middle-aged man who reportedly murdered a housewife at Okpagha Quarters, Eyaen, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State from his hideouts in Benin City.

Mr Philip Ayo, had fled after he allegedly stabbed the mother of four Children, Mrs Nata Patience Osawuaru, a scion of Igbinovia family multiple times with a knife in a fight late Saturday 27th April 2024 at her residence at Okpagha Quarters.

He was however nabbed 48 hours, a long search for the fugitive began by security agents after arsonists invaded Ayo’s residence and set it ablaze in a reprisal over Mrs Osawuaru whose husband lives abroad, death.

In the garb of his widely known proclivity for violence, Mr Philip Ayo, took to flight when he learned about the death of the business woman at an undisclosed hospital in Benin.

The Public Relations officer of the Nigeria Police Command, SP Chidinma Nwabuzor who confirmed Mr Philip Ayo ‘s arrest, said the murder suspect will have his date in court when ongoing investigation by Homicide Unit of State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, is concluded.

According to him, “As we speak, Mr Philip Ayo has been arrested. He was arrested yesterday (Tuesday 29th of April 2024) by personnel of the Homicide Unit of SCID, Edo State Police Command, arrested him (Mr Ayo) who is being investigated for murder.
