The Edo State Government has condemned, in the strongest terms, the alleged rape and murder of a fresh graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Adekolure Idowu Glory.
She was allegedly raped and killed while returning from home in Iyowa Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State on Thursday, June 13, 2024, according to reports.
The State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare in a statement on Wednesday, condemned the act, stating that
Godwin Obaseki has ordered the State Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye to investigate and fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly and unconscionable act within the next 7 days.
22-year-old was said to have been on her way home from processing her clearance when she was tortured and raped to death by yet-to-be-identified persons, and her remains dropped close to her mother’s house.
The statement said, “It is most disheartening to hear of the sad incident and the State Government condemns, in the strongest terms, the dastardly and unconscionable act”.
