Fire razes part of Rivers secretariat complex

A fire outbreak on Monday razed the Podium Block at the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt, destroying valuables in the building.

The cause of the inferno, is yet-to-be ascertained, but, a public interest journalist, Emmanuel Obe based in Rivers, confirmed the incident via his Facebook post after the incident.

He wrote: “There’s no water running in the complex. That means the water hydrants that could have helped put out this fire this evening could not work”.

The secretariat complex would be rehabilitated by previous and present administrations, including the state of emergency government of Ebok-Ete Ibas by President Bola Tinubu, nothing was done.
