A night fire has razed down popular Jattu Community market in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, leaving business owners in unimaginable grief.

The incident happened barely six months after over 100-year-old trees, succumbed to a windstorm and crushed four traders to death after early heavy downpour at the market.

The raging night fire occured at about 8p.m on Tuesday, destroyed stock worth millions of Naira and burnt shops and stalls at the market.

The cause of Tuesday’s fire that raged for several minutes, has yet to be ascertained.

Besides, fire fighters were yet to arrive the market as at the time of filing this report.

Some traders who made a detour after the disaster, wept profusely over the losses they have incurred.

TheNewspad reports that Jattu residents could not salvage much property from the wreckage blaze that swept through the marketplace.

Recall that the Local Government authority took steps to trace relatives of the victims and carried out remedial work and provided livelihood support packages for those who suffered losses during the previous disaster.
