FG appoints Prof Edoba Omoregie UNIBEN VC

The Governing Council of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has elected as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the federal government institution.

The Professor Law from the Facility of Law in UNIBEN will succeed the outgoing VC, Prof. Lilian Salami whose tenure will end on December 1st, 2024 as
as the 11th substantive VC of the University.

Pro-Chancellor of University of Benin and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Shaibu Umaru
announced this to journalists on Friday.

The Vice Chancellor-elect is to resume office on the 2nd of December, 2024 and hit the ground running.

The academic, is expected to leverage his wealth of experience to advance the fortunes of the University within the non renewable 5-year tenure in office.

Born on the 5th of April, 1969, Professor Edoba is married to a Professor of Biochemistry, Mrs Ehmiwenma Omoregie and their married is blessed with Children.

His appointment has sparked jubilation across the federation.
