The Nigeria police Command in Enugu State has began investigation into the alleged murder of a 19-year-old man identified as Chiadikaobi Asadu of Amoka village, Nru Nsukka in the Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State last month.
The victim, according to witnesses, allegedly used the stolen money to purchase a mobile phone without his father’s consent, was reportedly bounded to a tree and tortured to death over missing N17,00 cash.
The incident prompted his father to contact his kinsmen who apprehended him and subjected him to the punishment, resulting to his injury and death.
It was gathered that the deceased father who ordered disciplinary action against his son, however backtracked when police operatives interrogated him in connection with May 23rd 2026 incident.
The lid of the deceased father and others, were blown up after some of his associates, took Chiadikaobi’s corpse for burial, when security stormed his house, and uncovered the crime.
Contacted, the Command’s spokesman in the State, DSP Daniel Ndukwe has yet to disclose comments in response to TheNewspad inquiry on police investigation.
But security sources said an unspecified number of suspects including father of the victim, have been arrested in connection with the alleged crime.
