The fate of three Senior police officers, CSP Patrick Agbazue, SP. Nwode Nkeiruka and Inspector Harrison Akama are on cliff hanger, following allegations of extra-judicial killings levelled against them in the line of duty.
Agbazue, was the officer-in-charge of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Anambra State Command, while SP Nwode Nkeiruka was the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zone 13 headquarters, Ukpo-Dunukofia alongside Inspector Harrison Akama formerly attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Unit of the Force.
This following a probe panel that was set up by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba to investigate the alleged culpability of the police officers in Zone 13 Command, Ukpo-Dunukofia, Local Government Area in Anambra State.
CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja in a statement on Friday, said the IGP Alkali has also ordered the arrest of three officers attached to the Nigeria police Command in Anambra State.
The personnel were accused of unprofessional conduct,high handedness and extra judicial killings, according to the statement, said the officers listed inter alia, have reported at the Force headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja on Friday February 17,2023, on the directives of the IGP for commencement of investigations.
The panel has two weeks to submit it’s findings on the report of the investigation, CSP Adejobi said in the statement, which enjoined “any member of the public who has had experiences or information on acts of high-handedness, extortion, or extra-judicial killings by the officers in question, to forward same with detailed information via mobile number 08036242591, or by email via pressforabuja@police.gov.ng, igpmufhq@npf-c4i.com to enable the panel achieve a holistic investigation”.
TheNewspad reports that the affected personnel are billed to undergo orderly room trial and other internal disciplinary procedures, risk dismissal and jail term if found guilty of the allegations by a court of competent jurisdiction.
