Ex-VP mourns ‘Mr Ibu’, Super Falcons ex-goalkeeper

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Abubakar Atiku has send his condolences to families of late Nollywood actor, John Okafor better known as ‘Mr Ibu’ and ex-goalkeeper of the Super Falcons, Bidemi Aluko Olaseni, stressing that the duo will surely be missed.

62-year-old Okafor who passed died due of complications arising from Cardiac arrest, after undergoing multiple surgeries, including a leg amputation, and Olaseni died as a result of cancer related complications on Saturday March 2, 2024

In his tributes posted on Facebook, Atiku, described the demise of the two great Nigerians as “a big loss to our creative and sports industries”.

The 2023 Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP said, “These two great Nigerians have lived to give us happy moments in entertainment and the beautiful game”.

“The reported deaths of actor and Comedian, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu and ex-goalkeeper of the Super Falcons, Bidemi Aluko Olaseni, is a big loss to our creative and sports industries”, according to him.

Atiku prayed almighty shall grant their souls a peaceful repose and comfort to the grieving families and the Country.

The reported deaths of actor and Comedian, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu and ex-goalkeeper of the Super Falcons, Bidemi Aluko Olaseni, is a big loss to our creative and sports industries. These two great Nigerians have lived to give us happy moments in entertainment and the beautiful game. They will be sorely missed.
