Ex-gov’s son dies in road crash, Nigerians mourn

Faisal Mohammed Makarfi, son of former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, has died in a car crash.

The tragedy comes barely 24 hours after Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) lost his daughter, Fatima after a brief illness.

The crash occurred on Kaduna-Zaria expressway on Saturday evening and he was thereafter ferried to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of the State, are among prominent Nigerians who have sent condolences to the bereaved family.

Wabara said, “Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and we stand with him during this very difficult time.

“Faisal’s passing is not only a loss to his family but to all those whose lives he touched through his dedication and compassion.

“We pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants the family strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”, Wabara prayed.

TheNewspad reports that Faisal’s body was taken home for burial late Saturday, was a Civil Engineer by training.

He had his Masters Degree in Greenwich University, London after his Secondary Education at Offa, Kwara State.
