Enugu police detain woman accused of amputating niece toes

The Nigeria police Command in Enugu State has taken a woman, Jisienu Ike

who was reported to have used a Razor blade to cut off the toes of her infant niece living with her in the State.

 

The violent assault on the niece who lives with her, drew outrage amongst netizens on cyberspace, with many calling for her prosecution, while others condemned the attempted murder.

 

The female suspect was sighted in a viral being escorted by security agents and a crowd of people who boed her to a nearby police station for investigation.

 

Lagos based Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress from South Eastern Nigeria, Joe Igbokwe who confirmed the incident on his verified Facebook post where she also cautioned against Gender-Based violence.

 

He wrote: “Another woman from South East again has reportedly been arrested after allegedly attacking her sister’s little daughter with a razor blade”.

 

“The innocent child suffered deep wounds, even losing one of her toes. The suspect is now in police custody as investigations continue”, Igbokwe said.

 

The incident has been reported to the State Ministry of Women Affairs, while the injured victim is receiving medical and psychological services.
