#EndBadGovernance: Youths cancel int’l event  for victims of protest

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has cancelled activities to mark this year’s international youth Day celebration in solidarity with victims of #EndBad Governance nationwide protests.

Recall that Nigerians took to the streets on between Thursday August 1st and 10th 2024 to protest against President Bola Tinubu’s regime over rising inflation and worsening food crisis that greeted the removal of subsidy on fuel subsidy.

On Monday in a statement, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe said the decision to cancel the celebration was reached after due consultation with stakeholders and the leadership of the youth Organization, which he said aligns with the state-of-the nation.

The year’s anniversary was tagged, “Green skills for youth: Towards a sustainable world”,
