El-Rufai rallies ADC leaders over police summon

The embattled former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has reached out to Chieftains of Africa Democratic Party leaders ahead of 8th September 2025 invitation sent to him by the Nigeria police Command in the State.

The invitation was in response to a petition received by the police alleging the involvement of the former governor and the other party members in activities capable of disturbing public peace.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Uzainu Abdullahi said in an official letter to El-Rufai, dated 4th September 2025, requests him to appear at the Command on Monday September 8th 2025 along with the underlisted persons of interest over allegations of Criminal Conspiracy and other issues of concern in the State.

The letter said, those listed for questioning, include Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (a.k.a 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (a.k.a Mikiya).

The former Governor is expected to respond to questions bordering on allegations mentioned inter alia during the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdullahi in-charge of the Criminal Investigation Department at 10a.m.

“Thus Department is currently investigating the above mentioned case involving the following members of your party.

“You (El-Rufai) are requested to come along with them to SCID to clarify allegations reported against them by the complainants on 8th September, 2025.

“While anticipating your timely response, accept the regards and best wishes of the Commissioner of Police now and always, please”, according to the letter.
