Ekiti farmer flogs wife to death for late coming

Police operatives have arrested a farmer for allegedly flogging his wife identified as Modupe Alasin to death in Efon Alaaye Community, Ekiti State.

The victim who was accused her her husband for arrival late to their farm and resume her duty, according to witnesses who stated that victim plea for mercy fell on deaf ears.

Witnesses said the suspect, ordered the victim to get water from the nearby stream after the physical assault, but on getting to the stream, she slumped and died.

The tragedy prompted insinuations by residents who raised the alarm that caught the attention of the police operatives who recovered her body dotted with incisions and blurry vision.

SP Sunday Abutu who confirmed the incident and the suspect arrest to newsmen, stated that police investigation into the death of Modupe Alasin has commenced.

He also assured that the murder suspect will soon have his date in court, stressing that the Command will leave nothing to chance in the ongoing investigation.

TheNewspad reports that angry residents of in Efon Alaaye are seeking justice into the alleged murder of the victim.
