Edo woman dies trekking home after church service

A worshipper slumped while trekking home beside a Point of Sale stand near 5-junction, Uselu in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, after attending a church service on Sunday morning.

The dark skin woman in her 60’s, was thereafter evacuated to a private hospital beside Uwa market on Television Road where she was declared dead by a medical Doctor, citing High Blood pressure.

One the earliest responders that took the victim in blue buba and wrapper, to hospital who identified himself as Osamudiamen, alleged that no mobile phone or any contact list was found with the victim when her back was ransacked, making it impossible to contact the victim family.

He lamented that the resolution by the Hospital Management not to keep the victim’s corpse in their hospital after several hours of fruitless search for deceased family members with the support of other concerned residents, has complicated their nightmare.

According to Osamudiamen, “The incident happened at 5-junction. The woman was trekking on the road after attending early morning church service. And she suddenly slumped near a PoS stand.

“When we saw her, we mobilized ourselves and assisted her. When we opened her bag, we noticed that she has not phone we could contact any known family member.

“When we took her to the hospital, beside the market, a they said she is dead, and that she had High Blood pressure”, he said.
