A member of of Edo State vigilante Network, VGN has stabbed a meditator simply identified as ‘Pepper’ with a jackknife over his brother’s failure to pay him N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) debt.
The incident occurred at about 12: 15am on Wednesday morning in Isiemwenro street, off First East Circular Road in the Local government Area of the State.
It was learnt that another vigilante had accosted the debtor whose identity is yet-to-be known and demanded for his money, on a fateful day, before violent broke out.
The scuffle, attracted the attention of ‘Pepper’ who was accused of making a foul comment, that heightened tension that led to his brother escape.
The aggrieved creditor to pull-out his jackknife and stabbed ‘Pepper’ on his back, while another VGN nickname ‘Chibobo’, who was also fingered in the crime, fled.
Witnesses who saw the collapsed victim bleeding, evacuated took him to a private medical facility on 2nd East Circular Road for medical attention, while attacker, escaped.
A top Policeman, told TheNewspad that that one of the culprits has been arrested by police and detained at the Area Command police station on Thursday January 18, 2024 for further investigation.
