Edo State Secondary government school teacher identified only as Lambert has been arrested for allegedly sleeping and impregnating a 15-year-old female Secondary school student in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
Sources said the newly employed teacher, who claim that the unnamed student is 19-year-old, and had the consent of her parents who are both farmers, to marry the student when their relationship resulted to unexpected pregnancy.
This was after her parents who were gutted about the news of pregnancy, discovered that Lambert has being sleeping with their daughter in their matrimonial bed after they have gone to farm and got her pregnant.
Lambert’s lid was blown open when the pregnancy became 4- month-old by some aggrieved teachers in the school whom the victim earlier confided in, contacted officials of the State Ministry of Education, leading to the suspect arrest by police operatives in the State.
Consequently, the Ministry of Education the yet-to-be name school Principal has redeployed and demoted to the position of a Classroom teacher for been dodgy when he was summoned to appear at the State Ministry of Education to provide clarification on the alleged scandal.
Also, the State Ministry of Women Affairs has taken custody of the impregnated student and attend to the welfare and medical needs of the student, while investigation by police continue.
