Edo man risks jail term over pornographic images sent to woman

A legal battle involving an alleged Cyber stalker, Charles Amadasun, who accused of sending unauthorized pornographic content to draw the attention of a female citizen (name withheld), was stalled on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 arising from the defendant’s absence at the Benin Division of federal High Court.

59-year-old defendant (Amadasun), is accused of sending pornographic video and pictorial messages to a victim via computer network with intent to bully or threaten, an offence punishable under the Cybercrime Act.

The suit marked FHC/B/78c 2025, before Justice Babatunde Olaide Quadri but, was adjourned due to the defendant’s absence, reportedly due to hospitalization.

The charge sheet dated 11th June 2025, reads: “That you, Charles Amadasun ‘m’, on or about the month of March, 2025 in Benin City, within the Benin judicial Division of the federal High Court, did knowingly and intentionally sent video and pictorial messages by means of computer system to the complainant by means of computer system or network that is pornographic with the intent to bully or threaten the said complainant and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 24(1) (a) and punishable under Section 2(a) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention etc.) Act 2015, (As amended in 2024)”.

The Prosecution, P. Odion Esq, told the court that he will proceed with the suit on the next adjourned date.
