A new grassroots support group, RELAX Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, has said it will embark on mass mobilisation and public enlightenment across Edo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Edo State Coordinator of the group, Patrick Ediake, disclosed this on Monday at a press briefing ahead of the official inauguration of the organisation in the State.
Ediake said the group, which is working in conjunction with the City Boy Movement and Renew Hope, was established to take the achievements and policies of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to Nigerians at the grassroots.
According to him, the group would complement the efforts of other support organisations by explaining government policies and programmes to citizens, particularly those who may not have adequate information about them.
He said: “We are the grassroots arm of the support group for Tinubu’s re-election. RELAX is in conjunction with City Boy Movement and Renew Hope.
“It is very intentional as far as the 2027 elections are concerned. With all his moves, we are going to complement them by taking the message to communities across Edo State,” insisting that its activities would be focused on grassroots engagement. a support group.”
Ediake, a chartered accountant, listed infrastructure development, tax reforms, fuel subsidy removal and student support programmes among the policies of the administration which, according to him, require greater public awareness.
He specifically cited the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other road projects across the country as examples of infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Federal Government.
Ediake also defended the removal of fuel subsidy, saying the decision had enabled the government to redirect resources to the States and local governments.
Also speaking, the Edo State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Women Leader of the group, Barr. Marie Olabisi Idaomi, pledged her support for the organisation and its grassroots mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
