DSS mum over arrest of traditional worshipper

The Department of State Security Services (DSS) launched investigation into report of arrest of a traditional worshipper, accused of burning Qur’an copy in Oyo State.

DSS operatives of the secret police have taken Tani Olohun said to be one of the suspects into its custody in Ibadan over the alleged crime.

But, the DSS has however yet to confirm the report by Middlebelt online news on social media, Wednesday.

Odofin’s ordeal followed a report linking him to the alleged crime, which was confirmed by Abdulazeez Adegbola, who also a traditional worshipper in the State.

‎“He’s currently at Eleyele DSS office, Ibadan,” Adegbola said on Facebook, Wednesday, January 8th 2024.

Sahara Reporter earlier reported that Olohun was arrested in November 2023 by the police over a similar scandal and arraigned in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Olohun had apologized to the Muslim community, including prominent Cleric Alfa Labeeb, called him out, for his actions after he was granted bail, prior to the recent allegation levelled against him.
