President Bola Tinubu has advised the Edo State governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo to ignore noise makers over the outcome of last Saturday’s governorship election in the State.
He tasked the Governor-elect to prioritise the development of his state
and assured him of the full support of the Federal Government and the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
The President gave the advice when the national leadership of APC accompanied the Edo governor-elect and the deputy governor-elect, Dennis Idahosa, presented their certificates of return him on Thursday at the Villa.
President Tinubu hailed the electorate for exercising their franchise despite the heavy downpour during the election in Edo State.
”Never mind the noise makers. I do a lot of statistical sampling and results. When you hear politicians saying ‘all politics is local’, you must respect that notion.
“When you see the stability in the Edo North Senatorial District, we see a man that won the Central Senatorial district and a Candidate who has won a seat in the South Senatorial dlDistrict; we did a match, which turned out to be a winning match,” he said.
He also tasked the party leadership and membership to remain united and focused on achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda and commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for the peaceful election.
On his part, the national chairman of the ruling party in Nigeria, Abdullahi Ganduje assured that APC will sustain its winning streak and replicate in future off cycle elections in Ondo, Anambra States and other part of States South East region.
