Deceased army personnel families to get life assurance benefits

The federal government has approved the payment of outstanding life assurance for families Nigerian army personnel who died in the line of duty, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Taoreed Lagbaja said.

He disclose this while declaring open the Chief of Army Staff combined Second and Third Quarters Conference at the Army Headquarters Command Officers’ Mess 1, Asokoro Abuja.

Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General, Onyema Nwachukwu quoted Lieutenant General Lagbaja in a statement, as saying that President Bola Tinubu has prioritized troops’ welfare and and their families.

The government also promised to consolidate on all existing welfare arrangements and schemes to enhance the well-being of troops in addition to upgrade of Nigerian Army quarters for personnel and medical care to injured personnel as well as support to widows and next-of-kins of fallen heroes.
