Akeredolu sacks media aides to deputy governor

Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has sacked all media aides attached to his deputy, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa with immediate effect.

Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said in a statement on Tuesday that the affected aides include: Press Secretary to the Governor, Kenneth Odusola and the Special Assistant to Governor (New Media), Okunniga Oladipupo.

Others are Special Assistant to the Governor (Photography) Abayomi Samson Adefolalu, were appointed by the Governor and seconded to the office of the deputy Governor.

The decision is aimed at rejigging the media team, according to Olatunde who also directed the affected former aides to submit all government properties in their possession to the Acting Permanent Secretary, Office of the deputy Governor.

He said the Governor equally directed the ministry of Information and Orientation to provide adequate coverage for the activities of the deputy’s governor office henceforth and directed that all members of the Press Crew are to report back to their various ministries and stations.

The statement reads partly, “All media aides appointed by the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, and seconded to the office of the deputy Governor, have been relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.

“They are to submit all government properties in their possession to the Acting Permanent Secretary, Office of the deputy Governor”, the statement said.

This comes barely one week after the Governor who returned from three months medical trip for ailment for three months.

The sack of the media aides have raised a spectre of suspicion on the frosty relationship between the Governor and his deputy who stepped down from his position as the acting Governor last week.
