The special Committee set up by the Cross River State government to investigate the Local Government jobs recruitment exercise undertaken by the Local Government Commission in the State, has directed applicants who were reportedly scammed to provide evidence.
The intervention is aimed at clearing certain misconceptions triggered by emotions or assumptions and ensure strict compliance to the Local Civil Service Commission rules with prompt action and deserving attention.
The chairman Local Government Commission, Eyo Nsa Ekpo, who made the remarks said such uncontroverted evidence would assist the Committee to track culprits behind the reported cases of job racketeering in the State.
The resounding note of caution arose from some complaints by some applicants who claimed that they were issued letters of appointments by the Commission, but they were neither captured in the staff nominal roll in their various Local Government Councils not paid their salaries.
Ekpo, reassured of the security and safety of witnesses who will testify before the Committee and give useful evidence, which would assisted in unravelling the truth, will be rewarded fina
ncially.
