27 elected chairmen of Local government Areas in Borno State have been asked to sign attendance register four times daily as part of measures to check absenteeism.
Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum issued the directive on during the swearing-in chairmen Monday in Maiduguri where he also sworn-in 29 Special Advisers, and seven (7) Permanent Secretaries.
Zulum explained that any elected Council boss who refuses to comply with the directive will be sanctioned and removed from office.
He vowed to monitor compliance in the exercise, and ordered the Ministry for Local Government to deploy Biometric Data Capture Machines to the Council areas immediately for the exercise.
