Benin tradition weighs heavily at St. Joseph church leader’s funeral

The burial arrangement to send the Spiritual Leader of Saint Joseph’s chosen church, worldwide, Snr. Apostle Wilfred Uyiekpen Omoregie to a higher glory, has begun.

Omoregie, the Enogie (Duke) of Evbuolekpen Village in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the State, lost his life battle in February 2023 after a prolonged battle with undisclosed ailment.

The burial rites of the Octogenarian, which will be done in accordance with Benin Customs and Tradition. This would be preceded by Service of songs on 17th April 2023 at the international headquarters of the church in Ogiamien street, off Sokponba Road in Benin City, Edo State.

It was learnt that Programme of activities that was sighted by TheNewspad.com, indicates that attention has shifted to African Traditional Religion (ATR).

The part the hierarchy of the Pentecostal church, is expected is being overtaken by Benin tradition unlike the protocols that were observed during the burial ceremonies of his predecessors in the Organization.

Recall that late Apostle Omoregie succeeded Apostle Hayford Ikponmwosa Alile, the pioneer Director-General of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) who transited to higher glory on September 4, 2018 in the 76-year-old Pentecostal church.

TheNewspad reports that several church leaders across Nigeria and oversea are expected to grace Apostle Omoregie’s Service of song and pay tributes to the late worker in God’s vineyard, which witnessed a turnround under his administration, looking back at the church growth and Evangelism.
