Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has promised to reward residents of the State with Education in place of ‘drug’, which he claimed his political opponent bequeathed to the State in the past.
The Candidate Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday November 11, 2023 governorship election, urged eligible voters to exercise their franchise, and task Stakeholders to join forces in curbing violence in the elections.
The Governor who however did not mention names made allegation at the mega/grand finale rally organised by PDP on Tuesday in the State where PDP Governors.
Diri said, “They gave our young ones drugs rather than education. We have given them skills for them to become self-reliant and employers of labour.
“Within four years, we have written our own testimonial. They were Governor before what do they have to shall. What they keep saying is I will do this, I will do that”, Diri said.
Timpreye Silver, former Governor of Bayelsa State and former Minister of Petroleum (State), is the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.
