Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have shot

Thursday evening tragedy occurred on the Itobe-Ochadamu Expressway, around Ojuwo Olijo in Ofu Local Government Area of the State, where the assailants kidnapped an occupant of his vehicle.
The spokesperson for Nigeria police Command in the State, ASP Afusat Saliu confirmed the incident in a statement.
She revealed that armed assailants emerged from the surrounding bush and opened fire on motorists, amid tension in the area.
The statement explained that a blue Toyota Corolla, marked GWA 636 CH, was subsequently found abandoned on the highway.
“The driver, identified as Hon. Ishaq Yunusa, was found dead in the vehicle, while another occupant was taken into the bush by the assailants,” according to the statement where the Commsioner of Police in the State, CP has ordered manhunt on the assailants and the hostage in the bush.
The slain party official had been evacuated to Grimard Hospital, Anyigba, for autopsy, according to the police.
