A human rights activist, Sampson Iko Nweke, has rescued a middle-aged accused of stealing from been killed after lynching by louts in case of miscarriage of justice at Onitsha in Anambra State.
The chairman of Human Rights Defenders, Ebonyi State chapter, intervention brought reprieve to the victim who pulp by unknown persons after being accused of stealing an undisclosed sum of money at Onitsha.
The suspect in a viral video published on Facebook, denied stealing the money, shortly before he was hurled on a tricycle for urgent medical attention by the rights activist, after listening to the evidence of the suspect.
Nweke wrote: “See what Igbo brothers did to a fellow brother over a mere unverified accusation of theft.
“Now, it has been confirmed the guy didn’t steal the money after receiving this level of jungle treatment.
“Stop Jungle justice especially over minor issues. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.This guy must seek redress immediately. Who knows him, please?”, he said.
