Some students of Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma in Edo State have lamented the hike in price of Students Union Government, SUG election forms sale duly approved by the school.
In a circular titled, “Commencement of sales of forms for SUG 2026 aspirants”, dated 23rd March, 2026, endorsed by the Secretary General of AAU SUG, Emovuon Enosakhale, indicates that nine executive positions are being contested in the forthcoming election billed to hold on the University’s Campus.
The cost of SUG President form has been fixed for the sum of N55,000 (Fifty Five Thousand Naira) for each contestant, while the form for the positions of Vice President and Secretary General of the SUG, was pegged at N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) respectively.
Similarly, contestants in the category of Assistant Secretary General, will pay the sum of (Forty Thousand) N40,000 each, while the aspirants gunning for the position of Financial Secretary will cough-out the sum of (Thirty Five Thousand Naira) N35,000, respectively.
Other aspirants vying for positions of Director of Information, Director of Welfare and the Director of Sports are all expected to pay the sum of (Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000) each for their forms, beginning 24th March 2026.
According to the circular, which also mandated all aspirants seeking elective positions to comply with the electoral guidelines, that advised all aspirants to ensure the submission of their completed forms on or before 2nd April 2026, noting that “no submission will be accepted after the closing date”.
The sales of forms to aspirants will be conducted between 10a.m and 1p.m daily from the students hall (ELECOM office) in the State-owned University while the electoral date has yet-to-be announced by the electoral body.
