A 13-year-old maid, Angel Ezeanya and Gender Based Violence, survivor that was physically abused by her guardian in the outskirts of Owerri in Imo State, has been rescued.
On Thursday, the alleged female abuser, was arrested by police operatives attached to Orji police Division in Owerri North in Owerri, and detained in police custody in the State.
But the whereabouts of the Enugu born female maid’s parents, has heightened apprehension after the arrest of the abuser (woman) whose identity has yet-to-be revealed.
He lamented that the girl’s eyes became buggy as a result of the physical abuse by her guardian who allegedly locked up Angel.
The survivor from Mmako or Mmaku community in Udi, Awgu in Enugu state was locked up in a filthy detached tent over a minor disagreement with her guardian behind the later’s residence in Imo.
“Unfortunately, relatives of the child from Nmaku in Enugu State are no where to be found”, according to an official of the stand up for family Foundation, which brought the incident to light.
TheNewspad reports that the survivor was first admitted at the police Clinic Amakoya in Owerri North Local Government Area.
