A woman, Igie Osagie who reportedly drowned her 5-year-old child under the spiritual guidance of a Prophetesses in a River in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, have been arrested and detained by the police Command.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria police Command in the State, SP Eno Ikoedem disclosed this on Sunday in an interview with TheNewspad reporter.
She said the 29-year-old woman was apprehended by vigilant youths in the area by the River bank and thereafter handed over to police operatives who also took the mother of the prime suspect and a Priestess behind the spiritual cleansing of the child who was said to have suffered cerebral palsy and couldn’t walk.
The Command’s spokesperson said, “she is a young lady. She and her mother alongside a Prophetesses who accompanied her and he mother to the River are in police custody”, ahead of their date in court.
Earlier in an interview, Osagie from Umaza Quarters, became internet sensation after recently after the criminal incident.

Her confession that she had suffered multiple miscarriages and desperately wanted another child, left netizens in shock.
She claimed a spiritualist told her that her 5-year-old son was actually a python in human form and was responsible for her inability to carry pregnancies successfully
She also alleged Prophetess reportedly instructed her to throw the child into a river, assuring her that the child would transform into a python and disappear, after which her womb would become fertile and have other children thereafter.
