NSCDC parleys Benin monarch in addressing logistics challenges

Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has appealed to the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare II, to assist the agency in addressing operational and logistics challenges in addition to other incentives for staffers.

The Commandant, NSCDC, Edo State Command, Akintayo Saidi Ayinla made the request when he visited Oba of Benin Palace in Benin City, where he solicited prayer to enable the Corps achieve its mandate.

He emphasized the roles of NSCDC, including protecting critical national assets, infrastructure, and ensure public safety as well as support to other security agencies in maintaining law and order across Nigeria.

“However, your Majesty, one of our greatest challenges at the moment is logistics. Most of our operational vehicles are in deplorable condition, hindering our ability to respond to distress calls in the State. It is in this regard your Royal Majesty’s support”.

Responding, the Benin monarch, Ewuare, the second said the NSCDC personnel are doing well, and drew the Commandant’s attention to a certain area of concern in Edo State.

The first Class traditional ruler, acknowledged the request, while praying almighty God and his ancestors to keep NSCDC personnel from harm’s way; Even as he expressed delight over ongoing reforms in NSCDC by the federal government of Nigeria.

“You and your team are doing wonderfully well. We believe the federal government is building the Corps tremendously”, Oba Ewuare said.
