Gov donates 65 exotic cars to traditional rulers

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has donated 65 luxury vehicles of different foreign brands worth billions of Naira to members of Delta State Traditional Council.

Details of the multi- billion naira purchase, is drawing reactions in the internet amongst netizens, citing the economic downturn in the Country under President Bola Tinubu.

Ahead of the presentation of the vehicles, Norbert Chiazor, former NUJ chairman, Delta State Council in a social media post titled, SUVs for Delta Kings!, defended the Governor’s action on Wednesday, saying, “Kudos to Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for this elegant move”.

“A wise leader respects kings”, according to the Governor’s aide, “Traditional rulers deserve veneration more than politicians! Kings are not the bastions of jaded and obsolete institution”.

“They are naturalistic,original and authentic. Our pride above politics. They exist not just as romanticized symbols of a nostalgic past but dynamic models of age-old society”, according to him.

Chiazor said, “The link between the government and the people, democracy and development, manifesting and revolving towards an interminable future”.

According to him, “Monarchs as custodians of time-honoured traditional ethos, preserve our cultural heritage, enhance communal progress and edify the totality of our origin”, he stated.
